On this Saturday, November 13th, 2021, our 7th scientific seminar of the HPC Lab Students will be held weekly. This virtual seminar will discuss how to use Artificial Intelligence in the field of High Performance Scheduling using PBS Pro, presented by Pham Cong Bach and Ngo Minh Hanh.
I. Speaker and Content:
Abstract:
A crucial part of high-performance computing is job scheduling. Previous studies show that job running time refinement could increase the performance of HPC systems, but the drawback is the job got terminated due to underestimation. The soft walltime feature from OpenPBS solved this issue by using only soft walltime for the scheduling part, jobs will get terminated only by user estimated time only. We study how to estimate soft walltime from past submitted jobs’ data in order to enhance the performance of the job backfilling algorithm, and so to the HPC system.
II. Event Information and Registration:
The language of this seminar is Vietnamese. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, the seminar will still be held online on the Google Meets platform. Registered participants will receive an email with an invitation to the online meeting.
Registration for the seminar isavailable hereat no cost!
However, due to the limitation of Google Meets (only 100 people per meet), available slots are limited. In case you can not attend this event, HPC Lab will provide you with the recorded links after the seminar.
