On this Saturday, November 6th, 2021, our 6th scientific seminar of the HPC Lab Students will be held weekly. This week, our seminar will be divided into two sessions. In the first session, Nguyen Quang Binh will cover the introduction of MLflow. Next, we will discuss how to use Artificial Intelligence in the field of high-performance scheduling, presented by Pham Cong Bach and Ngo Minh Hanh.
I. Speaker and Content:
1. Session 1: Introduction to MLflow
Abstract:
Machine learning development creates new challenges that are not present in the traditional software development lifecycle. In this seminar, I will introduce MLflow – an open-source platform for end-to-end machine learning lifecycle management, and solve three key challenges: experimentation, reproducibility, and model deployment.
2. Session 2: Studying And Developing An AI High Performance Scheduling Algorithm Working In PBS Pro
Abstract:
A crucial part of high-performance computing is job scheduling. Previous studies show that job running time refinement could increase the performance of HPC systems, but the drawback is the job got terminated due to underestimation. The soft walltime feature from OpenPBS solved this issue by using only soft walltime for the scheduling part, jobs will get terminated only by user estimated time only. We study how to estimate soft walltime from past submitted jobs’ data in order to enhance the performance of the job backfilling algorithm, and so to the HPC system.
II. Event Information and Registration:
The language of this seminar is Vietnamese. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, the seminar will still be held online on the Google Meets platform. Registered participants will receive an email with an invitation to the online meeting.
Registration for the seminar is available hereat no cost! However, due to the limitation of Google Meets (only 100 people per meet), available slots are limited.
In case you can not attend this event, HPC Lab will provide you with the recorded links after the seminar.
